8 useful tips to optimize your website

Do you have a large number of website visitors and yet you do not get many customers from the internet? Then it is time to optimize your website in such a way that visitors actually place an order. We also call this: increasing your conversion. In this text we give 8 useful tips that you can apply immediately.

Clear navigation

The navigation of a website is very important. Suppose you come to a website yourself and you are not sure where to find what you are looking for. Then you probably surf almost immediately to another website where you can find it faster. If your website does not have clear navigation, you will probably miss out on a large number of customers. So take a close look at the navigation of your website. Is there a clear main menu? Are there links in the footer? Do you use breadcrumbs and internal links? Look at your website through the eyes of the visitor and check whether the visitor can easily find what he or she is looking for. If not, it's time to change this!

Good lyrics

Website visitors get the most information about your company, product or service from the texts on the website. The homepage text is of great importance, because this page generally receives the most visitors. Explain clearly what your company does and why the website visitor should be with you and not with the competitor. However, keep it short so that the visitor can see this information at a glance. Also create one or more pages for your services or products and include a clear description. The website visitors will then make a purchase much faster. With texts fully focused on SEO you can attract more visitors, but this will not increase your conversion. Therefore always write your texts for the visitors and add a few keywords later if necessary.

Images and videos

You can also transfer information about your company, product or service to the visitor by means of images and videos. Alternate the texts with this, so that the website also looks nicer. If you sell products, it is of course always important to place product photos on your website. Do you sell services? Then you can make a nice video of your working method. The visitor can immediately see what you have in house.

Reviews

Many people still find it difficult to purchase a product or service from a company they are not familiar with. If it is a smaller company, the threshold is even higher. Since they have not ordered from you before, they do not know if the quality is good. You can increase your conversion by gaining the trust of visitors with the help of reviews. Ask your customers to write a review about your company and post it on the website. It is also good to have previous customers write a review about a specific product or service. You will see that website visitors are less suspicious and place an order sooner.

Contact details

Most website administrators have thought of putting contact information on their website. This is also something that gives visitors more confidence because they know what kind of company they are dealing with and how to contact them. In addition, it is of course also important that a website visitor who needs help placing an order can contact you. You probably also have some contact details on your website. See if you can't supplement this information, for example with social media profiles, a Skype address or a WhatsApp number. This makes it even easier for potential customers to get in touch with you. You can also check whether the contact details are clearly visible. Most website administrators only place this information on a separate page, but it might also be an idea to put them in the footer. You can also increase your conversion by placing an e-mail address or telephone number in the header of your website.

USPs

USPs (Unique Selling Points) are reasons why a website visitor should purchase a product or service from you. Think about what you do better than the competition and why you would rather purchase a service or product from your company. Some examples: low rates, good service, fast delivery. It is best to place these points clearly visible on the homepage. This is how you immediately convince your potential customers! It is also good to put the USPs in other places on the website. For example, you can process them in a number of texts or you can place them with the products.

Call-to-action

A call to action is - as the term implies - a call to action. For example, you want the potential customer to place an order with you and with this piece of text you call on him to do so. You may also want a website visitor to sign up for your newsletter. In that case you can also use a call to action. An example of a call to action is: 'Order now'. However, you can also increase your conversion by making this type of text even more beautiful, for example: 'Order now at a very low price' or 'Order this great product now'. The website visitor then has an even greater need to purchase the product or service, which means that he will also place an order more quickly. You can also put calls to actions in buttons to make them stand out even more. You can place at least one call to action on almost every page of your website. Also, don't forget to include calls to actions in your blog posts. Visitors who come in on this can therefore be converted into customers more quickly.

Exit intent popups

More and more often we see exit intent popups on all kinds of websites. An exit intent popup is a popup that appears as soon as you want to click on the cross of the page in question. In this popup you can make an exclusive offer or you can offer something for free in exchange for subscribing to the newsletter. Actually, with an exit intent popup you get an extra chance to convert website visitors who actually want to into customers or leads. This way you can also increase your conversion at the last minute!
